Minimum Experience: Experienced working in camps or with children
Compensation: $17-$19/hr

Job Description:
Hamptons United Methodist Church seeks enthusiastic, attentive camp counselors to lead, support, and motivate campers during our August program. Camp counselors will receive training to fully support children's activities while ensuring their health and safety.
Camp counselors will help plan events, lead group activities, monitor campers, and respond to incidents, such as behavioral problems or accidents.
Counselors should be upbeat, decisive, and responsible, and possess strong organizational and leadership skills.

Dates: July 13th -17th, Mandatory staff training and orientation
Aug 3rd-28th program dates with campers
Camp Work Hours: 8:30 am-4:30 pm
Aug 27th or 28th Evening hours for the end-of-camp celebration

- Work with other camp staff to plan and coordinate camp events
- Lead and support campers as they participate in appropriate activities
- Monitor campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and regulations
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain proper use of camp area and equipment
- Report details of incidents to camp director
- Lead campers during all emergency procedures
- Participate in pre-camp training and all staff meetings
- Experience working with children or in a camp setting
- High level of responsibility and accountability
- Upbeat, engaging personality
- Strong communication and leadership skills
